Virgin Records Megastore in-house café
invites IzzyCue into their pastry / baked goods mix..
GRAPEVINE,
TX., Dec. / 18 / 2003 (PRWEB) -- IzzyCue, the venerable
lifestyle brand, begins supplying its Café Division
Premium Baked Goods pastry products to the in-house café
(CocoMoka Café) at the Virgin Megastore in Grapevine,
Texas.
In addition,
Virgin Megastores set the precedent for stores of the future
last week when it unveiled a new lifestyle store concept at
the San Francisco Megastore (12/3). An incredible lineup of
national and local acts and their very own chairman Sir Richard
Branson came to see the store and to help celebrate. Sir Richard,
dressed in a Virgin red robe, made a three-hour stopover in
San Francisco on his way from London to Australia just to
come check it out.
Hundreds
of people came to view the new look and to watch entertainment
from San Francisco-based international DJ Mark Farina,
electro pop outfit Mosquitos, Belly Dance All-Stars, Tonex,
The Glide (Memorial Church) Ensemble, who belted out a
rousing gospel number, and the San Francisco Gay Men's
Chorus. The festivities kicked off at 4pm and went way
into the evening where later on a brand new Triumph motorcycle
was raffled.
The overall event was emceed by a trio of comedic preachers,
San Francisco's very own Meehan Brothers. If that wasn't
enough, to showcase the store's new sections, the San
Francisco Institute offered spa services on the third
floor (Mind, Body, & Spirit), Sharp 3D offered gaming
demos on the second floor, and Will Wright, The Sims creator,
signed games in the Games section. B-boys and a Popper
showed off a few moves in the Dance/Hip Hop department
on the second floor throughout the evening. But of course,
it was all about the revival of the store, and throughout
the day all the new features were showcased from the vending
machine (where you can get new releases at 12:01am on
new release day) and plasma viewing screens, to Virgin
Megaplay Kiosks and hand-held listening devices, to Ben
Sherman clothing … and the list went on.
